Implementing existing proprietary trading protocols can be difficult for financial market participants, and we are working to make things simpler.

Kevin Houstoun, Rapid Addition Chairman writes in Financial Times: FIX Trading Community (formerly FIX Protocol), which manages a number of standards, has now created Simple Binary Encoding (SBE) – a variant of FIX aimed at enabling much simpler implementation for markets, as well as for sell side and buy side traders seeking to conduct very high speed trading.
